DAMANGE STABILITY RULES FOR TANKERS – DEADLINE 2021

Requirement entered into force on 1 Jan 2016 calls for all tankers to be fitted with a stability instrument, capable to verify compliance with intact and damage stability requirements, approved by the Administration.

The new requirement is retroactive applying to both new and existing ships as follows:

  • Ships constructed on or after 1 Jan 2016 – at delivery.
  • Ships constructed before 1 Jan 2016 – at first renewal survey on or after 1 Jan 2016, but no later than 1 Jan 2021.

(For Gas Carriers subject to the IGC Code, the respective dates come in force six months later i.e.1 Jul 2016 and 1 Jul 2021 respectively.)

The process of developing, customising and getting the Loading Computer approved by the administration is time-consuming.

SARC and OSEAN 360 are capable to work with you to ensure timely compliance by offering the appropriate solution to both new and existing vessels. They can provide expertise and proficiency and a team of experienced naval architects and marine engineers.
