LIMASSOL – CROWNE PLAZA HOTEL
The PANOLIN line of lubricants and greases available through OSEAN 360 and Lubrichemo Hellas were introduced to the Cyprus market during the first IMAREST event for the season held on Tuesday 19 September 2017 at the Crowne Plaza hotel. The presentation contemplated the VGP (Vessel General Permit) regulation compliance by use of the distinctive Swiss technology of the PANOLIN Environmentally Acceptable Lubricants (EALs) and greases, their differences when compared with conventional lubes and their unique attributes.
EAL are lubricants that demonstrably meet the standards of biodegradability, toxicity and bioaccumulation; have low environmental footprint and adversity to the aquatic life when compared to conventional (mineral) ones.
Other than EPA of the USA, regulating vessel discharges incidental to the Normal Operation of ships through the VGP implemented on the 19Dec13 also the IMO’s Polar Code that regulates pollution in the Polar regions implemented on 1Jan17, point to the use of EALs.
The event was well organised by IMAREST, well presented by Mr Pavlos Zervogiannis and well received by all participants in line with OSEAN 360’s aim of offering quality through its products, services and opportunities for further education and skill development in an effort to support shipping.
